ella knows we’re all just Taller Toddlers —because she’s one, too.

ella katz (b. 2000) is a chicago bred, new york based (but californian at heart) creative storyteller, actor and producer, known for her people-first, out-of-the-box artistry in hard news, documentary, scripted and news-adjacent spaces.

katz holds her b.a. from the university of southern california’s annenberg school of journalism and the school of cinematic arts.

from an early age, katz has been (ella)vating every room she enters. she spent her first three years after undergrad pitching and producing hundreds of stories with abc news, creating "let's get into it," and spearheading the network's first-ever social reporting series. she also worked as a social media producer for abc news live prime with linsey davis, managing their social footprint, identity and brand voice for accounts that reach a combined audience of 80 million.

while pursuing her undergrad degree at usc, she quickly realized the pressing loneliness epidemic on campus. in the years since, katz has reported extensively on the mental health crisis, most recently in “generation swipe” a half hour special on hulu, and “wearable or terrible: the truth behind our tracking devices,” an investigative piece on the dark side of wearable technology.

as of april 2025, katz independently contracts for a few clients, creatively producing, brand building and helping to tell authentic stories on social.

she really does believe that every adult is a Taller Toddler — and that embracing our child-like selves has the power to improve our collective experience of growing up.
